I started on one of those accordions. They aren't good by any means but they will get you going.
Each button accordion comes in a different tuning. (as you mentioned) just like the harmonica. You need more than one to play every possible song. Ask someone in a music store for a better explanation.
Best way to learn is to download the senor maestro program and start learning the scales.
Good luck, welcome to the site. Stoney

The up and down button is air release. If you close the accordion without pushing any buttons or the air release, you will ruin the reeds.
The other one? No idea what you are talking about there.
As for the Senor Maestro program, it has been down and then back up again for a while. I don't have a copy with me. Maybe one of our members could send you a copy.

Yes, you can also use this valve to get air while playing. You can fill up with air and then close the accordion with this.
I think that your gonna wanna learn a song or two by tab method. Then learn your keys(scales) with señor meastro, if you want I can email you the exe. of the program.
Yingji is an ok brand for begginers and you can play alot of song on a GCF if thats the key tuning you have. Like I said try learning from the tab section and then work your way up learning your keys.

The button on the top is to tighten up the strap that is on the left side of the accordion. My best advice is find a teacher because that senor maestro really doesn't make sense to beginners. I am currently going to this teacher here in Houston but I dont know where you stay at so i cant help you there. Best thing to do is get a teacher. videos and all that only teach you in general, but we are individuals and need our own individual attention. There is something else that senor doesnt teach you is positioning of the fingers very important and that is something a teacher can give you. The accordion you have is a good accordion to learn with but when you start getting the hang of it and start liking to play then go for a honer and finally if you want to go all out get you a gabbanelli. Me personally i am getting one this weekend. So good luck and have patience because you will needed. dont give and keep trying. EVOL ONE

That is a big question. You can look in the buyers guide to see some specs that we have put together but keep in mind that most cheap chinese models have some defects. So when you start on a cheap box, assume that if you get any good at playing you will eventually want to get a better box.
If that really bothers you, get a hohner panther. They are accepted as the best entry level boxes and some pro players do use them.
