Well kids, you may have noticed that the accordionassassins.tk domain no longer exists. This is because the free domain must get a certain number of hits to keep being free.
I had a great time putting this site together but since I went home to Canada I didn´t have an internet connection for the longest time so the site kind of got lost. I had hoped that the member would keep things going but that´s not the case. Like I always said from the beginning, the majority of people who participate in these sites are looking for a short cut and don´t want to do the hard work of learning their instruments.
This could likely be my last posting. Thanks to everyone who worked on this site in the old days, and even the bad days. (Mike and Tex, it´s been a long time and it was fun while it lasted) To the people who ran us out of their sites and inspired us to create our own, and then who turned around a copied exactly the rules we implimented here to avoid the kinds of conflicts that many users continue to fall victim to, bite me and shame on you.
As a last final final note, I am back in Mexico and so absolutely disgusted with the state of music these days. Norteña music has become Popeña music. There is little or nothing redeeming there at all. Intocable is OVER. They are a pop band now. Pesado is next to Invisible. Tigres del norte still need vocal lessons. The entire scene is now dominated by banda and regeaton (yuch) and I completely give up.
Remember the days when Michael Jackson was black and people (well rednecks and racists) said ¨Black people sure can sing and dance¨ Well they were right. No one moved like James Brown or Michael. No one sang like Smokey Robinson or Marvin Gaye. The supremes, Temptations, Earth Wind and Fire, Commodores etc. etc. Fantastic. Timeless.
Twenty years later Rap has watered down the scene to the point where there is NOTHING SPECIAL about the Black sound. NOTHING:
If the same thing keeps up in Latin Music, if every artiist´s dream is to do an English albumn, make it simple for the White folk´s consumption and if at every turn new styles come out for the masses, in ten years Latin music will be just a thing of the past.
Why learn all those compicated dance steps and rythmns like salsa and mambo and GuaGuanco and Merengue etc. when you can just dumb down and dance regeaton?
I f**kING GIVE UP. I am buying a guitar and going back to playing the blues and country. At least it is real.
One last thing. I have opened up the Tabs section of the site for everyone´s enjoyment. You don´t have to be a member to enter anymore.
Thanks again to everyone who helped. (You know who you are)
The domain name for the site is now davetrial.tripod.com/index.html
If you want this accordion info to stay up and help more people, pass the info around.
Thanks again,
Stoney
