I haven't played a Ranco but eveyone who has has said that they are within the top 5 best brands available. That is a pretty good recommendation in my books.
Take into account that these are not cheap factory made boxes. A lot of people get put off because they want their new accordion NOW. These boxes take a while to build, like 3 months or something.
I can't tell you the price but I understand that they are around 25% cheaper than the Houston Gabbanelli. For that kind of savings I can wait a bit. Stoney

Hello Vato, I have a Ranco. I love its action and its feel. It is a little heavier than Hohners but just get some large shoulder straps and you should be fine. The extra buttons take some time to get use to, but that is only if you come from a Hohner style 31 button box. You can go to the Ranco Website and ask for a quote straight from them? rancoaccordions.it/Hope this helps, TexasFM3
