So, what is done is done. We are here in new digs, not nearly as pretty as the old digs but functional. So let's get on with business.
This will be the last post on the events of the last week and the last time I mention the name Mike Guana. For what it was worth, the guy was a friend and I feel badly for the way things turned out.
I received two very moving e mails today. In one a member thanked me for my efforts and my integrity. In the end that is all that matters. The members that come to this site from AA will come because they know that I am tireless in my attempt to share my knowledge. Don't get me wrong, it is not a selfless effort. I am in it for the money. (Just kidding) I do it because I learn a lot by teaching.
But in the end Integrity is all a person has. If you don't have it, you have nothing. And that is why the AA partners have parted ways.
I have said that Mike's guilt or innocence will and should be decided in a court of law. I am not a judge. However, if I was a Lawyer, I wouldn't take his case.
Is he guilty of anything? Guilty of allowing his intergrity to be put in question. Maybe his situation just got out of control. Maybe he never intended to defraud anyone. Maybe he always intended to replace Tex's reeds. Only god knows.
The second letter that I received was from a member who I had really enjoyed sharing ideas with when AA first started, but who later kind of disapeared. He said he was interested in the new site as long as it didn't become a smear campaign against ANYONE. I have decided to follow his advice.
So this is the last post I will make on the subject on this site. I will defend myself if need be on other sites and I have warned Mike that if he goes back into the accordion sales business or creates another accordion site similar to AA I will be all over him like white on rice. As far as I am concerned he has lost the right to be a voice for the Tejano, Conjunto, Norteño Accordion scene.
So, unless I am further provoked, I am retreating from the battle to concentrate on getting this site up to standard. But I am and will stay armed for battle.
Let this be the last word on the subject.
